Shenyang museums recognized for their influence overseas

Two museums in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, were recognized on a list in the "national museum (exhibition) overseas influence assessment report in 2019", which was released on May 18 on International Museum Day, according to local reports.

The report was compiled by the cultural heritage exchange think tank under the guidance of the Art Exhibitions China -- scoring museums in the country in terms of popularity, audience appeal, public service, industry reputation and international academic reputation.

The report said the 9.18 Historical Museum ranked sixth among the "top 10 memorial museums for comprehensive influence" and Shenyang Palace Museum ranked eighth among the "top 10 most popular museums in Japan and South Korea" and ninth among the "top 10 most popular museums in the United States".
