Reading promotional activity launched in Shenyang

A successful reading promotional activity -- hosted by the Shenyang culture, tourism, radio and television bureau and organized by Shenyang Children's Library -- was recently launched in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China's Liaoning province, during which close attention was paid to COVID-19 epidemic prevention and control measures, according to local officials.

During the activity, a mobile van carrying 1,000 books -- covering such areas as art and history, literature, sports and entertainment -- travelled to Yujiatai village in Liaozhong district, to promote reading among villagers.

In addition, various online reading materials and activities were introduced to villagers.

Organizers said the event effectively promoted reading in the village and was welcomed by locals.

Shenyang Children's Library officials said that it will organize more promotional activities in rural areas, to promote reading and enrich villagers' cultural lives and it will also offer more support for the construction of rural libraries.
