Liaoning province refunds deposits to 1,027 travel agencies

Northeast China’s Liaoning province has adopted a raft of measures designed to stimulate its tourism industry which was seriously affected by the novel coronavirus epidemic in the first quarter of this year, according to local reports.

Officials said that to date, the province had refunded 250 million yuan ($35.25 million) in deposits for 1,027 travel agencies, issued 17.8 million in loans for 16 key projects and offered financial support of 47.95 million yuan to 68 winter tourism companies and travel agencies.

They said these moves aimed to improve the business environment and support the resumption of work in the tourism sector, adding that the province would give all-out support to help tackle the financial difficulties faced by cultural and tourism companies.
