Shenyang railway group to handle 1.8m May Day travelers

China Railway Shenyang Group is expected to handle 1.8 million passengers during this year’s May Day holiday travel rush -- from April 30 to May 5 -- with a daily handling capacity of 300,000 travelers, according to the company.

China Railway Shenyang Group is headquartered in Shenyang city, capital of China’s northeastern Liaoning province.

It is expected to handle 380,000 passengers alone on May 1. A company spokesman said company will handle nearly 400 trains each day during the rush.

The group will resume operations -- of railway lines G218/7, D6/7, K54/3 from Shenyang to Beijing, line K683/1 from Dalian to Beijing, line Z12/1 from Shenyang to Guangzhou, line K190/89 from Shenyang to Shanghai and line K2048/7 from Shenyang to Xi'an, as well as others -- to fully meet the needs of passengers on their holiday travels.

In addition, the group will continue to take comprehensive novel coronavirus epidemic prevention and control measures to ensure passengers’ safety.

These will include extending entrances, increasing waiting areas, adding security check machines, measuring passenger body temperatures, as well as disinfecting carriages and public areas, the spokesman added.
