Huanggu district in Shenyang -- capital city of Northeast China’s Liaoning province -- recently launched an exciting program of spring tourism activities, according to local reports.
Officials said that a celebration activity for the birthday of all flowers will be held at Beiling Park on the May Day holiday -- featuring an eye-popping range of different-colored tulips.
The 2020 reading festival also kicked off in the Huanggu district.
Officials said that Huanggu’s library has installed an innovative public book house in the district. This integrates cultural communications, reading experiences, cultural and creative salons and other functions. An audio reading pavilion is also featured, to encourage residents read more books.
During the reading festival, a series of activities will be held, the organizers said.
These will include online reading sharing sessions, paper cutting exhibitions themed around fights against the novel coronavirus epidemic, exhibitions of paintings by veterans, and other intriguing events.
Nearly 1,000 volumes of documents before the founding of the New China and around 100 rare books will be displayed, such as the 1927 edition of the English-Chinese Dictionary.
In addition, the district is also highlighting its night economy and recommends Tawan Xingshun International Night Market to visitors.
As one of the 10 most popular night markets in the country, Tawan Xingshun International Night Market is representative of Huanggu district’s night tourism activities.
There, visitors can have a ball tucking into various snacks, taking in circus performances -- and they can also have fun touring a haunted house or getting physical with such activities as rock climbing.
