Xinmin city offers raft of Spring Festival activities

Xinmin city, located in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, will hold a raft of more than 10 cultural and entertainment activities during the coming Spring Festival holiday on Jan 24-30, according to local officials.

The activities include an ice and snow carnival, a strawberry picking festival, a hot spring tourism festival, celebrations for the Spring Festival, a Chinese chess competition, squaring dancing and more.

Officials said that these activities are being held to celebrate the traditional Chinese New Year and promote the development of the tourism sector in the city.
