Shenyang running event helps suffering girl

A running event was held in Shenyang, the capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, Dec 15 to raise money for Xiaofeng, a 15-year-old girl who is suffering from progeria, a rare syndrome that prematurely ages children.

Some 1,000 runners participated in the event, with all entry fees to be donated to Xiofeng for her treatment, organizers said.

Guo Mingyi, a national role model well-known by the public for his deeds in learning from hero soldier Lei Feng, has also paid close attention to the treatment of Xiaofeng in the past two months.

Various media platforms also reported Xiaofeng’s story, helping to raise treatment funding for Xiaofeng.
