A promotional activity for winter tourism in Heilongjiang province and Inner Mongolia autonomous region was held in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Dec 1, according to local officials.
Winter tourism in five places -- Qiqihar, Daqing, Heihe, and the Greater Hinggan Mountains in Heilongjiang and Hulunbuir in Inner Mongolia -- was promoted to Shenyang locals.
The event, which was themed on “travel to Qiqihar by high-speed rail”, displayed high-quality winter tourism resources and promoted tourism products.
Jiang Heng, deputy director of the Qiqihar culture, radio, television and tourism bureau, said at the event that Qiqihar welcomed Shenyang visitors.
He said it was hoped the event would boost tourism between Shenyang and the five featured places.
Zhou Jianya, director of the market development department at the Shenyang culture, tourism, radio, and television bureau, said that Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia had rich tourism resources.
Zhou added that the event provided an ideal platform for tourism departments and companies in the areas to share their information and resources and establish a partnership.
Officials said it is the first time that Qiqihar has promoted its tourism in Shenyang. Shenyang visitors can take high-speed rail trains to visit Qiqihar, taking only four hours.
During the event, representatives from the Qiqihar culture, radio, television, and tourism bureau and Shenyang tourism companies also had a meeting -- agreeing to develop cooperation in areas including ecological sightseeing, parent-child tourism, winter sports, tourism themed on industry and revolutionary history and folk customs.
