Two intl orchestras to perform at Shenyang concert

Two international orchestras will perform at the Liaoning Grand Theater in Shenyang, the capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, for the 20th New Year Concert, according to local reports.

The two orchestras, the Austrian Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra and the Vienna Royal Artist Orchestra, will perform on Dec 29, 2019 and Jan 3, 2020, respectively, for Shenyang locals.

Founded in 1996, the Austrian Salzburg Philharmonic Orchestra comes from Salzburg, the hometown of Mozart. The orchestra is adept at playing classical, traditional and modern music as well as classic Hollywood movie music.

The Vienna Royal Artist Orchestra was founded in the Austrian capital of Vienna, and is well-known in Europe for playing neo-classical music.

During the concert, the two orchestras will play classical pieces by Tchaikovsky, Strauss, Dvorak, among others. They will also play Chinese music such as Jasmine Flower (Mo Li Hua) and Red Detachment of Women.
