Shenyang Metro Line 10 to start trials at year-end

Before the beginning of 2024 the city of Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, will have three more new metro lines for convenience of Shenyang locals, according to information released at a meeting held on Nov 25.

The city currently has three metro lines under construction, namely Metro Line 10, the first phase of Metro Line 4 and the southern extension of Metro Line 2.

The Shenyang Metro Line 10, with a total length of 27.21 kilometers, has 21 stations. The line is expected to go into trial operations at the end of this year, according to the authorities.

The first phase of Metro Line 4, stretching 34.02 km, has 23 stations. It is now undergoing civil engineering construction.

The southern extension of Metro Line 2, stretching 13.7 km, has seven stations. Construction on the extension line started in August.

According to the city’s plan, three new metro lines will be constructed: namely the first phase of Metro Line 3, the first phase of Metro Line 6 and the eastern extension line of Metro Line 1, with respective lengths of 38.4 km, 36 km, and 15 km.
