Beiling Park, constructed in 1927 in the northern part of Shenyang, is the city’s largest park. It covers an area of 330 hectares and contains many historical buildings, trees and lakes.

The Zhaoling Tomb is located in the park, which is the tomb of the second emperor of Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) -- Hong Taiji (1592-1643) -- and his wives.

The construction of the tomb started in 1643 and finished in 1651. It is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a national 4A tourist attraction.
