Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, promoted the city’s cultural and tourism sector at the 8th Beijing International Tourism Commodities and Tourism Equipment Fair, on Oct 18-20, according to officials.
The promotional drive was organized by the culture, tourism, radio, and television bureau of Shenyang.
During the fair, the culture and tourism departments of Shenyang and Beijing kicked off a “Beijing-Shenyang cooperative culture and tourism week”, which will run until the end of October.
During the culture and tourism week, Shenyang and Shenyang economic zone (which includes cities of Shenyang, Anshan, Fushun, Benxi and Liaoyang in Liaoning province) will promote their culture and tourism to Beijing people, officials said.
Eight tour routes in Shenyang and Shenyang economic zone will be launched, with themes on its prehistoric culture and the city during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and during the Republic of China (1912-1949). Other themes explored are on anti-war history, revolutionary culture, industrial culture, ecology and urban civilization.
Promotional performances and exhibition activities, as well as investment conferences to attract funding for cultural and tourism projects in Shenyang, will also be held during the week, according to officials.
In addition, Shenyang and cities involved in the Shenyang economic zone, also promoted their culture and tourism sectors at the 16th China-ASEAN Expo Tourism Exhibition. The event was held in Guilin, in South China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Oct 18-20
Many people attending the two events showed interest in visiting Shenyang, noting that they had no idea that Shenyang had such rich cultural and tourism resources – other than the renowned Shenyang Palace Museum and Marshal Zhang’s Mansion.
