Shenyang holds folk art exhibition

A folk art exhibition opened at Shenyang Daily art gallery in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Oct 10 -- as part of the city’s celebrations for the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

It was hosted by the Shenyang publicity department, Shenyang literary federation and the Shenyang Daily. It was organized by the Shenyang folk artists association and Shenyang Daily art gallery.

More than 130 pieces went on display, including paper cuttings, porcelain plate paintings and porcelain plate carvings. The organizers said the exhibits featured local characteristics.

They said the event serves as an exchange platform for folk art organizations in Shenyang and Liaoning, and showcases folk artist’s love of their country and their hometown.

The exhibition will run until Oct 14.
