Liaoning students celebrate country’s 70th anniversary

An evening party hosted by the Educational Department of Liaoning Province was held at Yunyang Pavilion in Shenshuiwan Park in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province on Sept 26, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

More than 1,000 students from 20 universities and 14 middle and primary schools across the province participated in the event, staging art performances for over 3,000 visitors.

Officials said the students -- some of whom are from remote areas in Liaoning, some of them volunteers involved in educational programs in remote areas -- showed their love for motherland and expressed their pride in their country.

Sun Xiaoping, president of Shenyang Aerospace University, said that the event was inspiring, and he felt the young people’s energy.

It is part of Liaoning province’s celebrations for the country’s 70th anniversary and the province hosting a raft of activities before and after the National Day, according to organizers.
