Women heroes celebrated in Shenyang pictures

An exhibition featuring pictures of 100 inspirational women -- who made great contributions to the country’s development over the past seven decades -- opened at the Yifang Square in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province on Sept 24.

Organizers said the 100 females all made outstanding contributions to the country’s growth in its economy, sciences, education, culture, sports, health and other areas. Among them, 30 are from Shenyang.

The pictures on display were collected by the Xinhua News Agency. They tell the stories of the women and honor their spirit of self-esteem, self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement.

The exhibition was launched in Beijing on Sept 16 and will also go on tour to Shanghai, Chengdu, Changsha, and Guangzhou.
