Liaoning's capital city of Shenyang is introducing a raft of measures to light up its economy after dark, in an attempt to make it a new driving force of the local economy.
The night-time economy refers to business activity between 6 pm and 6 am in the services sector. Many Chinese cities, especially metropolises such as Beijing and Shanghai, have rolled out plans to support night-time markets.
Responding to the night economy development strategy, two night viewing sightseeing sites were launched in Shenyang recently, featuring a music fountain and a fluorescent runway.
The music fountain is located in the Shuixiu Lake Square in Zhongyang Park in Hunan district, in Shenyang. It features of 14 sets of fountains controlled by music and more than 2,000 underwater lights, creating a superb light and fountain combination show. Its main fountain can reach a height of 80 meters.
The other popular night-time destination is a 2.5 kilometers-long runway in Mozi Mountain. It is mainly made of polymer materials and ceramic granules. The runway emits colorful patterns at night, giving runners a celestial experience.
Local officials said that Shenyang will continue to launch more night-time business initiatives.
