Liaoning 2nd language arts festival opens

The second language arts festival of Liaoning province opened in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, on July 25.

The festival is hosted by the Liaoning association of the art of recitation, the Liaoning education institute and other organizations -- to help the province recognize people excellent in recitation and to promote Mandarin.

More than 500 language artists and amateurs participated in the opening ceremony.

The festival will run for five months, during which activities will be held in 14 cities in Liaoning province, such as recital contests and recital performances.
