The 16th Shenyang Faku International Ceramics Trade Fair will kick off at the Faku Economic Development Zone in Shenyang city, in northeastern Liaoning province on June 28, according to information released at a press conference held by the Shenyang Municipal People’s Government information office on May 29.

The event serves as a platform for ceramics merchants to expand their market share. Organizers said it is also a good opportunity to improve the profile of Faku’s ceramics brand while transforming and upgrading the industry.

The event will run three days and display the newest ceramics techniques and technologies, to promote the products to domestic and international markets.

Several exhibition areas will be set up for architectural ceramics, artistic ceramics, fine ceramics, ceramics accessory products, ceramics machine parts, ceramics sanitary ware, as well as ceramics industry logistics and financial services products.

Around 150 businesses have confirmed their participation in the trade fair, including leading global ceramics brands TOTO, Arrow, Kohler, American Standard and Jingdezhen.

International buyers from Italy, Russia, Japan, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates will attend.

The event is sponsored by the government of Faku county, the China Ceramics Industrial Association and the Liaoning Provincial Federation of Industry and Commerce.

Organizers said that, to date, the event has been successfully held 15 times and about 1,650 businesses and 30,000 merchants from home and abroad have gathered in Faku to discuss products and sign deals.

Faku, known as China's “Ceramics Valley”, started its ceramics manufacturing industry back in 2002. Over the course of more than 15 years, it has established its own industrial park, which 248 businesses call home. The park mainly undertakes research, production, and the sale of architectural ceramics and artistic ceramics.

At present, the Faku industrial park has about 1,000 ceramics brands and 12 categories of ceramics products, and a complete industrial chain has taken shape.

It has also applied for a total of 78 ceramics production technology patents.

Last year, the ceramics produced in Faku were exported to 36 countries and regions, generating an export revenue of $100 million. Officials said the Faku ceramics industrial park has become the most important ceramics base in the entire Northeast Asia region.
