Figurative sculptures on display in Shenyang

The “Convergence of South & North” Educational Exchange Exhibition of Academic Figurative Sculptures opened at the Art Gallery of Luxun Academy of Fine Arts in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on March 15.

Hosted by the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts in Guangzhou, South China’s Guangdong province and Luxun Academy of Fine Arts, the exhibition was previously held in Guangzhou during January.

The opening ceremony was attended by professors from the two academies, as well as representatives from Shenyang University, Liaoning artists’ association and China Sculpture Institute.

More than 100 figurative sculptures are on display –– all of which were created by teachers and students from the two academies.

A seminar on how to teach modern sculpting was also held after the opening ceremony.

The exhibition will last until March 25.
