New flight links Shenyang with Changbai Mountain

Travelers are now able to travel to Nanjing and Changbai Mountain, thanks to the launch of a new flight from Shenyang Taoxian International Airport in Liaioning province on Jan 21.

With hordes of Spring Festival tourists expected to visit Changbai Mountain, the new service will allow them to travel from Shenyang in as little as one hour, bringing new tourists to enjoy the area’s famous skiing fields.

Changbai Mountain, situated in the southeast of Jilin province, is known for its Heaven Lake, breathtaking waterfalls, stunning snow sculptures, and lush forests. It is currently a popular winter tourist destination as a number of high-quality ski resorts are located there.

The new flight, operated by Juneyao Airlines as HO1689, will fly a daily service from Jan 21 to Feb 17. It leaves Nanjing at 8:00 and arrives in Shenyang at 10:20, before departing the city at 11:10 and arriving at Changbai Mountain for 12:10.

The return flight operates as HO1690 and leaves Changbai Mountain at 19:15, arriving in Shenyang at 20:15, before departing at 21:05. It arrives in Nanjing at 23:40.

During the Spring Festival travel rush, 11 domestic and international airlines plan to increase or alter 18 services that they operate out of Shenyang airport –– involving a total of 593 flights.

Among them, China Southern Airlines plans add to its total of 253 flights, most of which are to Shenzhen, Haikou, Guangzhou, Zhuhai, Changsha, Hong Kong and Bangkok.
