The activities of the fifth China-France Month of Environment opened in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 7.

The opening ceremony was held for activities taking place in three provinces across Northeast China –– Liaoning, Jilin, and Heilongjiang.

Hosted by the Embassy of France in China, the month-long initiative is themed around three essential elements of daily life –– eating, living and breathing. Events will take place in Paris and 22 cities across China from Sept 15 to Oct 14.

A total of 55 programs including 130 activities will be organized to help visitors gain a deeper understanding of the links between health and the environment, such as the health risks posed by pollution, the potential solutions to tackle them, as well as the influence of people’s lifestyles, especially dietary habits, to the environment.

Exhibitions, dramas, concerts, films and documentaries related to the environment will be organized for participants, as well as discussion forums attended by experts in the field.

Following Shenyang, activities will take place in other cities across Northeast China.
