The 17th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition (CIEME) concluded at Shenyang International Exhibition Center in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 5.

Starting on Sept 1, the five-day event saw agreements worth 1.3 billion yuan ($190.26 million) signed, according to a news conference on the last day of the event.

A total of 915 companies from 15 countries and regions worldwide, including the United States, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Japan, took part in the exhibition, occupying more than 1,300 booths.

During the event, 11 economic and trade cooperation agreements worth 960 million yuan were signed during a high-level investment fair, and contracts worth 150 million yuan were agreed during a buyers’ meeting.

Featuring intelligent manufacturing and robotics, this year’s expo displayed the most advanced products in the country’s equipment manufacturing field, such as the world’s first artificial intelligence device to help predict and prevent falls in elderly people, the country’s first industrial robot band, and China’s first self-developed smart mobile shooting system, all attracting a host of visitors.

In addition, several forums, with topics ranging from cooperation between the big data industry and manufacturing sector to technological breakthroughs in robotics, were also held during the event.
