China-France industrial design forum held in Shenyang

The first China-France industrial design forum was held at Shenyang Aerospace University in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 2.

The forum was launched by the French goods hall at the Shenyang area of China (Liaoning) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and hosted by the Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese of Liaoning Province.

Part of the 17th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition, which is underway in Shenyang from Sept 1 to 5, the forum was co-organized by several design organizations, colleges and universities, and companies from two countries.

At the forum, representatives from the design field and companies of China and France delivered speeches on industrial design and exchanged viewpoints on development of industrial design in manufacturing and emerging industries.

Representatives from design departments of universities and colleges from the two countries also signed an agreement with intention to establish a China-France design university alliance, with the aim of promoting the development of design education in China, and of Liaoning province's design and creative industries. In addition, a designer alliance and youth innovation and entrepreneurship base in the field of design, a design exhibition hall, an online platform, and an industrial park for designers in the two countries were also declared to be set up.
