Intl equipment manufacturing expo opens in NE China

The 17th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition (CIEME) opened at Shenyang International Exhibition Center in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 1, and will run until Sept 5.

Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Liaoning Provincial People’s Government, CIEME has been held in Shenyang since 2002, from Sept 1 to 5 every year.

With a theme of intelligent manufacturing and revitalizing Northeast China, this year’s expo covers an area of 110,000 square meters, including seven indoor exhibition areas and an outside one, with more than 4,100 exhibition stands.

A total of 915 companies from 15 countries and regions worldwide, including the United States, Spain, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and Japan, are taking part in the exhibition, occupying more than 1,300 booths.

This year’s expo has a particular focus on the robotics industry. Various types of robots such as industrial robots, music robots, and sports robots are on display. And opening day saw 32,000 visitors flocking to see some of the latest technologies.

In addition to exhibitions, several forums and meetings will be held during the event, with topics ranging from the revitalization of Northeast China and international high-end equipment manufacturing, to strengthening the national economy via the manufacturing sector, robotics, and sustainable development.
