Shenyang International Marathon calls for runners

The 2018 Shengjing Bank Shenyang International Marathon will be held in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on Sept 9.

Hosted by the Chinese Athletic Association and Shenyang municipal people’s government, the annual event is being organized by Shenyang sports bureau and the governments of Heping, Shenhe and Hunnan districts.

Registration for this year’s marathon officially opens on Aug 2, with runners aiming to participate asked to log onto the event’s official website www.sy-marathon.com for registration details.

Successfully held for three years running, the marathon now attracts a large number of participants and promotes Shenyang’s national and international profile.

To allow more runners to compete, this year’s event will include a full marathon (42.195 kilometers) and a half-marathon (21.0975 km) races, a 10-km run, and a mini-marathon (around 4 km) for families and couples to run together.

It is estimated that 20,000 runners will take part in this year’s event, 3,500 undertaking the full marathon, 5,500 attempting the half, 7,000 the mini, and 4,000 the 10-km run.
