Art exhibition underway in Shenyang

Hosted by Shenyang’s publicity department and Shenyang literature and art association, an art exhibition opened at Liaoning art gallery in Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, on July 24.

A total of more than 300 exhibits in four categories –– paintings, calligraphy works, photographs and folk art –– are on display, including 60 paintings, more than 180 calligraphy works, 60 photographic works, and 60 examples of folk art.

Exhibits all depict elements of Shenyang’s traditional culture, such as calligraphy describing Shenyang in ancient times, paintings of Siberian tigers, photographs of modern Shenyang, and paper cuttings of Shenyang’s architecture.

Items of cultural heritage such as paper cuttings and Manchu embroidery works are also on display at the art gallery.

The exhibition will continue until July 28.
