Agreements between seven municipal medical institutions from Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, and their Beijing counterparts were signed at a meeting held in Shenyang on July 20.
The meeting was aimed at accelerating the development in Shenyang’s medical health sector and deepening medical cooperation between Shenyang and Beijing.
Representatives from Beijing Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning and Shenyang Municipal Commission of Health and Family Planning participated in the meeting.
The two sides will seek further cooperation in terms of technology, talent, research and development.
Shenyang sees the contract as a new opportunity to improve its medical service and this move is a welcomed continuation of a collaboration between Shenyang and Beijing which began in 2016.
Key to the success of the collaboration has been a focus on personnel exchanges. In the past one year, nearly 100 people have been sent from Shenyang to Beijing for further study. More than 20 academic meetings and training classes have been conducted in that time.
In addition, they have reached agreements between the National Institute of Occupational Health and Poison Control in Beijing and Shenyang Ninth People’s Hospital, and between the National Center for Children’s Health, China and Shenyang Children’s Hospital.
The seven participating medical institutions in Shenyang are the Shenyang Second Hospital of Shenyang Medical College, the Shenyang Fifth People’s Hospital, the Shenyang Mental Health Center, the Shenyang Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Shenyang Red Cross Hospital, the Stomatology Hospital of Shenyang and the Sixth People’s Hospital of Shenyang.
Their counterparts in Beijing are the Beijing Anzhen Hospital of Capital Medical University, the Beijing Cancer Hospital, the Beijing Anding Hospital, the Beijing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Beijing Geriatric Hospital, the Beijing Stomatological Hospital of Capital Medical University and the Beijing Ditan Hospital of Capital Medical University.
