A flower arrangement exhibition to mark the 40th anniversary of the signing of the Sino-Japanese Peace and Friendship Treaty was held in Shenyang, capital of Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 22.
At the exhibition, a Japanese flower arranging artist Eikou Sumura was invited to demonstrate ikebana, the Japanese art of formal flower arrangement, with special regard shown to balance, harmony, and form.
Eikou Sumura has hosted a number of ikebana exhibitions and seminars in 30 regions and 20 countries all over the world to promote Japanese ikebana.
Her ikebana works display the beauty of flowers with the usage of petals, fallen leaves, and flowering branches from street trees.
The flower arrangement exhibition was organized by the Japanese Consulate in Shenyang, the Liaoning Junding cultural industry company and a Japanese ikebana association.
