Shenyang gets ready for lotus festival

The 17th Xinmin Lotus Festival will open at Xianzihu Lake in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, on July 21.

At the opening ceremony, a variety of lotus-themed activities will be on offer, including tea art shows, and exhibitions of traditional Chinese culture.

The site will offer free admission on the day, with a host of internet celebrities expected to attend.

During the festival, a range of activities will be on offer for visitors, including traditional cultural performances, a camping festival, and marathon.

The festival is expected to give visitors the chance to experience a rural lifestyle in a relaxed setting.

Xianzihu Lake is a scenic spot, located in Xinmin's Qiandangbu town,  which is just 45 kilometers west of downtown Shenyang.
