An exhibition and sales center for cultural and creative products featuring Shenyang characteristics opened at Liaoning Provincial Library in Shenyang, Northeast China’s Liaoning province, July 15.
The center was jointly set up by the library and Fengtian (a former name of Shenyang) Memory cultural and creative industrial park in the city, showcasing and selling more than 1,000 products such as paper cuttings, wooden stationery, embroideries and specialties.
Clay figurines, dough figurines, shadow puppets, and other intangible cultural heritages can also be seen at the center.
Many of the products are designed and made by Shenyang designers or inheritors of intangible cultural heritages, which makes children proud of their hometown, said a resident.
Yang Xinya, a young designer, showcased more than 10 wooden works at the center, including handmade books, signature pens and razors.
She said that the platform has provided a stage for young cultural and creative product designers to display their works.
More such exhibitions and sales centers for cultural and creative products will be planned to promote development of the cultural creativity sector in Shenyang, according Wang Wenbin, one of the directors of the program.
