China railway Shenyang group puts a new railway operation plan into effect in Liaoning province, Northeast China, on July 1, according to Liaoning Daily.
After the new train operation plan is rolled out on July 1, the G1284/1 and G1282/3 trains will start operating between Shenyang North Railway Station and Chengdu East Railway Station. The one-way trip takes about 14 hours and saves 26 hours and 13 minutes over the current fastest train operating between Shenyang and Chengdu, in Sichuan province.
This is the first time for high-speed rails to run between Northeast China and Southwest China. These trains are the first high-speed ones entering Sichuan province from Northeast China, covering a distance of about 2,600 kilometers.
The G1216/7 and G1218/5 trains depart from Shenyang to Changsha South Railway Station while the G1292/89 and G1290/1 trains operate in the reverse direction. The newly-launched rails bring the history of no through trains linking the two cities to an end.
This is also the first time for high-speed trains to be launched between Shenyang and Changsha, in Hunan province. As the old Chinese saying goes “Depart in the morning and arrive in the evening”, and that is the case after the implementation of the new diagram as the Shenyang-Changsha journey only takes about 12 hours compared to the original 22 hours.
The G495/8 and G497/6 trains are newly-opened between Dalian North Railway Station and Beijing South Railway Station. They only take about 4.5 hours to cover the distance, making them connect the two cities in the shortest possible time.
In response to heavy summer traffic, Shenyang group has put into operation two extra pairs of “Weekend line” and “Peak-hour line”. “Weekend line” refers to the G721/32 trains between Dalian North Railway Station and Harbin West Railway Station. And “peak-hour lines” are K5040/39 trains between Tongliao city, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, and Shanhaiguan, Hebei province.
