SIA achievements on display in Shenyang

Shenyang Institute of Automation (SIA), part of the Chinese Academy of Sciences held an exhibition on May 19 and 20, to showcase its scientific achievements to the public, in Shenyang, Liaoning province.

The technology exhibition was held in honor of the 60th anniversary of the institute’s establishment, attracting a large number of tech enthusiasts.

Scientific research achievements and progress made in fields including robotics, intelligent manufacturing and optoelectronic information technology were on display for visitors, as well as photographs highlighting industrialization, professional cultivation and international exchanges and cooperation, according to a staff member of SIA.

Visitors were able to view high-tech inventions, including an underwater glider, earthquake rescue robots, polar exploration robots, lunar exploration robots, and multi-purpose drones.

SIA plays a leading role in the country’s robotics sector, and the institute will continue to implement an innovation-driven development strategy and work towards further achievements in the robotics and intelligent manufacturing sectors, said Sang Zigang, deputy director of SIA.
