WHETO delegation visits Pingyao

A five-member delegation from Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Wuhan (WHETO) visited Pingyao on May 23.

The delegation led by WHETO's director Feng Haoxian toured local historical sites and spoke highly of the area’s tourism attractions and profound cultural influence in the county.

A meeting was then held between the WHETO delegation and Pingyao tourism department. The two sides discussed planning for the Ancient City of Pingyao and project development in the hope of furthering partnerships in film festivals, and calligraphy and painting exhibitions.

WHETO commenced operations on April 1, 2014. Its main functions include further enhancing the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government's liaison and communication with Hubei, Hunan, Shanxi, Jiangxi and Henan provinces; facilitating exchange and cooperation in economics and trade as well as other areas between Hong Kong and the relevant provinces; and supporting Hong Kong residents and businesspeople in those areas.
