When a drive-in cinema opened recently in the city of Datong, Shanxi province, it attracted 60 cars on its first night thanks to its spaciousness and it even offered a special pub in an old abandoned bus, along with restaurants, and chess and other games.

It also offers artistic sites for entertainment, such as graffiti, winding corridors, and arts exhibitions.

The cinema is in the Bei Wei Dynasty 398 Art Zone and is a project that the zone's administration came up with, so that visitors can watch blockbusters and, when they get tired of the cinema, can enjoy a lot more activities as well.

The big screen swings into action, at 8:00 each night, playing movies that the audience get the sound for through a radio receiver inside their car. Watching a movie this way gives the audience a feeling of personal space and the romance of an outdoor movie, and has been widely applauded.
