Construction of Datong’s East City Mall project is accelerating with the main construction of the southern district completed. Settled businesses are preparing for its official opening in October.

As the largest commercial and trade center in North China and a brand-new city landmark, the East City Mall project has been highly valued and listed in Datong’s modern service industry base planning. Apart from the opening southern district, construction of the northern and eastern districts are progressing well, forming a cascade development.

The project covers an area of 240,000 square meters (360 hectares), starting from Yunnan Street to the north of Xingyun Street, and faces the ancient city of Datong to its west. With an investment of nearly 7 billion yuan ($1.12 billion), it’s jointly invested in by Datong Specreate Group and Hualin Group as the largest city center mall in North China and the only large-scale modern business center surrounded by city walls.
