Pilot run of Shaanxi section in Datong-Xi’an Passenger Special Line ends

The last running test of the Datong-Xi’an Passenger Special Line along a section of Xi’an North to Yongji North was made on June 5, marking the end of the pilot run of the Shaanxi section of the Special Line.

The Shaanxi Section started in Xi’an North and ended in Taiyuan South. With a length of 548 kilometers including 20 stations, the designed speed of the line is 250 km/h. The joint debugging of the Shaanxi section ended on May 20. After 35 fault simulation scenes, 14 emergency rescue drills and parameter testing of the new running chart, tests have now been finished.

Datong-Xi’an Passenger Special Line, Shanxi-Shaanxi Yellow River Bridge, has a total length of 9,969 meters, and is called “No.1 High-speed Rail Bridge over Yellow River”. It is expected that the whole of the Shaanxi section of the Special Line will be tested by the middle of June. The operation will start before adjustments of the new train working diagram on July 1.

11 pairs of multiple unit trains will be operational, including 8 pairs of Xi’an North to Taiyuan South, 2 pairs of Baoji South to Taiyuan South and 1 pair of Xi’an North to Yuncheng North (weekends only).

The running time of passenger trains from Xi’an to Taiyuan has been shortened from 10 hours to 3 hours.
