Datong experiences tourism boom during Tomb Sweeping Day

According to a report by the Datong municipal tourism administration, the number of tourists across the city during the three-day Tomb Sweeping Day period, April 5-7, reached 165,000, up 14.74 percent from last year, and gross tourism income reached more than 70 million yuan, up 18.65 percent from 2013.

The total number of visitors reached 120,300 at monitored tourism sites in Datong during the holiday, realizing a year-on-year increase of 15.21 percent. The major popular scenic spots are Yungang Grottoes,Huayan Temple and the Datong Ancient City Wall.
