Taiyuan city in North China’s Shanxi province is all set for the 2018 China (Taiyuan) International Energy Industry Expo, which is to be held in the city from Sept 16 to 18, according to news from Taiyuan municipal government on Sept 12.

By Aug 17, the city had already set up eight working groups to ensure the smooth progress of the event, with each working group focusing on a different aspect, such as transportation and communications.

The venue has undergone checks to ensure stable supplies of water, gas and electricity, and local transport systems have also been inspected.

The city has also opened two new bus lines to help serve visitors to the expo and 8,292 taxis have undergone checks.

In terms of communications, China Unicom, China Mobile and China Telecom have conducted preliminary checks on communications infrastructure, especially at important venues, such as China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center, Lihua Hotel, and Taiyuan University of Technology.

Emergency communications vehicles will be put on standby at China Taiyuan Coal Transaction Center for the expo, in order to ensure uninterrupted communications.

In addition, the city has been promoting the event through large outdoor screens, in an effort to raise its profile and promote the energy revolution.
