A Spring Festival celebration featuring sightseeing in Taihang Mountains and folk custom experience will open in Folk Custom Street in Taihang Joy Valley, an amusement park in Changzhi city, on Feb 16.
The event will consist of five parts, including a Chinese zodiac design exhibition and a fair for products themed around the Year of the Dog.
The event aims to promote the Chinese New Year culture and allow more people to further understand the traditional folk custom through various activities, according to Yingke Meichen International Travel Agency, one of organizers of the event.
Taihang Joy Valley, with an investment of 2.5 billion yuan ($394.10 million) and covering 66 hectares, is the first large innovative and comprehensive tourism project in Shanxi. The valley consists of four major parts. The Folk Custom Street with archaistic dwellings offer folk crafts, specialties and folk custom shows to visitors, displaying the culture of Changzhi city.
