Shanxi adds three national wetland parks

Three wetland parks in Shanxi province have recently been included in a list of national wetland parks released by the State Forestry Administration.

Changyuan River, Wenyu River and Fenhe River have all been designated national wetland parks.

At present, Shanxi has 59 wetland parks with five national wetland parks, 14 pilot national wetland parks and 40 provincial wetland parks.

Changyuan River National Wetland Park in Qixian county, Jinzhong city, covers an area of 892.30 hectares with the wetland area covering 457.85 hectares. There are 250 species of animals, including those under special State protection like the black stork and golden eagle, and 457 species of plants in the park. [Photo/sxrb.com]

Wenyu River National Wetland Park in Jiaocheng county, Lyuliang city, covers an area of 5,325.45 hectares, with a wetland area covering 1,833.48 hectares. There are 188 species of wild animals, including those under special State protection like the brown eared pheasant and leopard, and 261 species of plants in the park. [Photo/wyhsdgy.cn]
