A delegation from encephalopathy rehabilitation foundation of China Health Promotion Foundation (CHPF) visited eight families with cerebral palsy children in Changzhi city, Shanxi province, Jan 13.

The households were beneficiaries of CHPF's charity program targeting cerebral palsy patients in Changzhi city. Since the program was piloted in the city, the foundation has raised donations of 4 million yuan ($622,087) for offering medical assistance to children with cerebral palsy.

In the past two years, more than 1000 cerebral palsy children from financially weak families did checkups free of charge and part of them received surgeries with the help of the foundation, including the eight patients who got treated in Beijing at the end of 2016. The eight children have greatly improved their self-care and physical exercise abilities following one-year surgery efficiency tracing research.

To expand the scope of the program, China Health Promotion Foundation will cooperate with related charity organizations in Shanxi in aiding young patients from poor families in other cities of the province. All poor families with patients between 3 to 18 years of age can apply to the program for help.
