A smart health quarantine supervision service system was put into service in Taiyuan, Datong and Yuncheng cities in Shanxi province on Jan 1, marking Shanxi's intelligentization of port inspections and quarantine in central and west China.

The system consists of eight services such as information management of epidemics, entry-exit inspection and quarantine, and healthcare for international travelers.

Various kinds of intelligent hardware and software equipment, including the fourth generation intelligent infrared temperature monitoring system, quarantine robot and intelligent inspection and quarantine equipment, allow the health quarantine supervision service system to be easily operated and run efficiently.

For example, the quarantine robot can help conduct intensive quarantine work in a complex and high-risk environment, such as disposing of nuclear and biochemical materials and screening for acute infectious diseases.

Currently, the system is in place at international airports in three cities in Shanxi. By Jan 5, Shanxi Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau had completed entry-exit inspection and quarantine of 39 aircraft and 4,399 people using the new system, handling one suspected case of an acute infectious disease.

With the system, the entry-exit inspection and quarantine experience for travelers in Shanxi will change. The efficiency of customs clearance will increase by 40 percent.

Apart from Shanxi, six other provinces and cities such as Beijing and Heilongjiang province have also piloted the system for entry-exit inspection and quarantine procedures.
