Tourism income reached 34.03 billion yuan ($5.12 billion) in Shanxi province during the eight-day National Day holiday, representing a growth of 17.63 percent year-on-year.
The province received a total of 53.41 million travelers during the holiday, a rise of 17.26 percent year-on-year. Of these visitors, 63.43 percent took a one-day trip, while 36.57 percent stayed overnight, representing an increase of 16.97 percent.
The 35 key tourist attractions in the province welcomed 5.87 million visitors, a growth of 1.69 percent. The number of tourists from Beijing ranked first among the out-of -province visitors, with those from Henan province and Shaanxi province following closely behind.
