An indoor adventure theme park combining high-tech experiences and entertainment opened to the public on May 13 in Taiyuan, capital of Shanxi province.
The theme park in Taiyuan Economic and Technical Development Zone covers an area of 4.67 hectares and cost 300 million yuan ($43.48 million). The park integrates technology, and recreation and culture in various programs and venues themed around adventure, including a holographic theatre, laser games and a makerspace for children.
With laser technology, 3-D effects and miniature scenery, the park provides tourists with immersive experiences.

It was the first technological theme park in Shanxi and the only one that has applied for intellectual property rights for its featured characters in the province.
"We aim to develop the tech-theme park into the best one in China by collecting and adopting great innovative ideas and advanced technology," said Bao Yuehua, chairman of Buckcq, an entertainment company which owns and built the theme park.
China will establish more theme parks, especially high-tech parks like the one in Taiyuan during the 13th Five-Year Plan Period (2016-20), according to an official from China National Tourism Administration on May 14.
