Shuozhou, a city in North China's Shanxi province, launched a product promotion event held at the Beijing International Exhibition Center on April 17.
More than 20 Shuozhou-based companies exhibited around 120 different quality products across 10 major categories, including farm products, daily necessities, and souvenirs.
Liu Zhihong, a senior Shuozhou official, explained the importance of the event at the launch ceremony.
"This event, as a part of the 'Shanxi brands tour China', is aimed at promoting Shuozhou's specialties, its distinctive culture, and we hope it will help to attract leading companies based in Beijing and as well as those spread around China."
Located in northern Shanxi province, Shuozhou is a vital cereal production base and animal husbandry base in North China. In recent years, the city has transformed its industrial structure and improved the lives of local citizens through economic stability and environmental protection.
