Shanxi province is planning to build a series of logistics parks in Taiyuan, capital city of the province, to promote the development of e-commerce and logistics in the area, according to Shanxi Daily.

With the help of Global Logistic Properties Ltd, the government will construct a comprehensive industrial park, integrating e-stores, warehouses and logistics companies in Taiyuan. The park, upon completion, will be the first one of its kind in China and it is estimated that it will generate an annual pre-tax profit of over 100 million yuan ($14.53 million).

Also, a fund for Shanxi's e-commerce and logistics industries is expected to be set up this year, involving total investment of around 5 billion yuan.

The fund will be used to build professional logistics parks with intelligent warehouses mainly in Taiyuan, and will help fund the development of internet services to improve the efficiency of the logistics industry.

"Taiyuan is the center of Shanxi's politics, economics and culture. The project will not only promote its economic development, but also boost the growth of logistics and e-commerce in the province," said Ma Jianfeng, director of Taiyuan municipal postal administration.

A branch of Zhongtong Express in Shanxi has already applied to join the comprehensive park in Taiyuan.
