Shanxi came to an agreement with Suning Holdings Group in Taiyuan on Sept 5 to further cooperation on trade and e-commerce.
According to the agreement, Shanxi will collaborate with Suning in several areas, including rural e-commerce, online finance, and the training of people engaged in e-business to develop e-commerce and logistics in Shanxi province.
Lou Yangsheng, acting governor of Shanxi province, expressed the appreciation for Suning's contribution to the local economy. He hoped that the group will expand investment in trade and help develop the local tourism.
Suning will support the industrial transformation of Shanxi in modern logistics, finance, business and education, echoed Zhang Jindong, chairman of the group.
Suning Holdings Group was founded in 1990. Its business covers real estate, commerce, finance, sports, media and entertainment. In April 2016, Suning began work on a logistics base in Jinzhong, Shanxi province. In addition, a leisure and commercial complex valued at six billion yuan ($898.21 million) is under construction in Taiyuan.
