The Second Yellow River (Xiwan) Biennial Photography Exhibition opened in Xiwan ancient village, Lvliang city of North China's Shanxi province, on June 9. More than 2,000 photographs, with a theme of "Beautiful Village", are displayed on the walls of residential houses in the 400-year-old ancient village, making the exhibition quite unique. Xiwan village is on the west bank of the Qiushui River, one kilometer away from Qikou Ancient Town. It sits to the northwest of the town, near a mountain, facing the southeast, and was built on a rock slope. The village is in a narrow strip 250 meters long and 120 wide.
