Mr. Andrew Williams, president of Collabrium Capital, a well-known British financial enterprise, paid a visit with his wife on April 18 to Shanxi University where his grandfather had taught almost a century earlier.

A former CIO of Schroders Group, Mr. Williams recently turned his eyes to North China's Shanxi province to seek investment opportunities.

Mr. Williams' family has a deep affection on Shanxi province stemming from the previous generation when his grandfather was a professor at Shanxi University from 1906 to 1912, and had participated in designing the Shanxi Coal Mine. Furthermore, Mr. William's father was born in Taiyuan, the capital of Shanxi Province.

In his greetings with Mr. Williams, Jia Suotang, president of Shanxi University expressed his gratitude to Mr. Williams' grandfather for his great contributions to the school. Jia also hoped that Mr. Williams would provide full support for the development of the school while investing in Shanxi.

Sharing old photos recording precious memories of his ancestors in Taiyuan and showing the original letter of appointment issued by Shanxi University to his grandfather, Mr. Williams promised to offer helpful suggestions on international finance and scientific projects at any time necessary.
