North China's Shanxi province held 148 job fairs from middle January to early March with 99,000 job seekers reaching employment agreements with companies, said the Shanxi employment service agency.
Small and micro businesses accounted for the majority of recruiters, mainly in services.
The high-tech, new energy, and new materials industries saw a great demand for workers.
In addition, demand in Internet-based sectors, including e-commerce and express logistics, grew sharply, while the demand for housekeeping, nurses, and those in the insurance and medical care areas remained high.
The number of jobs offered grew 1.6 percent compared with 2015, and the number of job seekers increased 3.6 percent.
